When I was a teenager growing up in Kansas City, I had friends from just about every clique in high school. It wasn’t anything I had deliberately set out to do, it just happened over time. Subconsciously I would sum up a group or individual and find out what color they were, and then respond accordingly. Now it is true that each one is equal, but let’s be honest, each color reacts differently to situations, and we need to be aware and prepared.
Knowing your red ones, from your yellow ones can really be a plus. Personally, I’m most comfortable with my own blue types, though green is also a vital part of the whole picture. Actually each color represents the four basic personality types. (What? That wasn’t misleading) Red and Yellow, Green and Blue, these four colors work for you, as you make your healthy fortune round the world.
It’s important to know a little something about these four personality types in all walks of life; but especially those of us in network marketing, sales, or anyone who would like to be able to have some training tools up their sleeve that will assist them in “influencing” their customers, clients, students, or let’s be honest, even Spouses. There, I said it. If we are going to succeed in a business where people are the most important aspect, it makes sense to learn as much as we can about how people think.
Colors, animal types, seasons, earth elements, whatever symbol works for you, it’s all the same. For this piece, I’m using the four colors: red, green, yellow and blue. Now of course, we all will have characteristics from each of the sixteen personality types, but for now we’re going to just cover the very basic four. Now I’m not a real doctor, but I play one on TV, so if you want to learn more about this exciting topic, do your research. My intention is to just introduce the concept to some of you.
In time you’ll be able to identify the colors rather quickly. Let’s start with RED.
- RED
Ah yes, the red ones. Three words: Money, Finance, Power. They like the big flashy houses, and drive the expensive red cars. They tend to like their diamonds big. Rolexes, and all the fun high end bling bling toys. I guess you could say a bit materialistic. Reds have very decisive, take charge personalities. They love to set goals and achieve them. They are motivated by a challenge. So when you’re talking to a RED, you need to talk about the comp plan, and the great lifestyle you can offer them. Just know though, that they can be very impatient, so get to the point fast. Don’t waste their time going over every single detail or you’ll lose their attention. They may even think they’re superior and talk over your head, if you act or speak slowly. So talk fast. Good chance they might show up late to your meeting. (They’re just so darn important after all. Places to go, people to see).
- GREEN
Now the greens on the other hand, are a completely different story. Their three words might be: Organized, Logical, Unemotional. This is a more conservative bunch. Very detail oriented so with them it’s okay to talk slowly. They like documentation, so you can show them your brochures with the charts and magazine articles. They hate chaos, and will ask a lot of questions. They have been known to drive Volvos. (I’m just saying…) They will however show up to your meeting on time.
- YELLOW
Thank God for our yellow ones. Their three words: Humanitarian, Earthy, Emotion. These are the people whose main goal is helping others. They will need to feel an emotional level in order to create a connection. The women are not going to have on a lot of makeup, or wear high heels. Yellows are motivated by fairness and equality for all. You want to talk about the great humanitarian work that your company is doing, not the compensation plan. They are most definitely driving hybrids. Lots of yellow Prius drivers out there. They are blessed by helping others.
- BLUE
Last but not least we have the blues. Three words to describe them might be: Immediate, Emotional, Fun. You seriously want to emphasis all the great fun your team is having, when talking with blues. Highly emotional. Life of the party. Love to be the center of attention, but only because it makes others so happy. LOL. Blues love to shop, but when they see something they want, they want it now. They like jewelry. Love fun adventures. Some have tried many different careers. They inspire others. They also attract a lot of people because of their contagious energy. In some cases more concerned about popularity, than winning results. They tend to make spontaneous decisions and don’t need a lot of facts.
Well that wraps up my limited knowledge on the subject matter. I hope this MLM training tool helps show you how vital each personality type is to a successful business team, and/or community. For more information on the subject; go visit your local library or Google it.
That’s my two cents. Your comments are always encouraged and welcome.
To your phenomenal success.

I couldn’t agree with you more. That’s one of the things I love about our industry; our skills are what determine our success. No one has the power to hold us back. What a fun adventure.

Have an awesome day my friend. I would so love a plate of some delicious Philippine delicacies about now. Some of the best tasting food in the world, in my opinion.
